Finance Controller (GER)
We are Geely Technology Europe. A unified European R&D centre within Geely Auto Group, where world-class engineers, developers and innovators push the boundaries of intelligent mobility. Our mission is to shape the next generation of vehicle architectures, digital technologies and intelligent systems for global markets. We integrate European customer and regulatory requirements early in the development process and support multiple brands within the Geely portfolio, including Zeekr, Lynk & Co and Geely. With nearly two decades of engineering experience in Europe, we continue to build smart, sustainable and user‑centric mobility solutions.
At Geely Technology Europe, we are shaping the future of mobility through innovation, collaboration and technology. Behind our engineering and R&D activities, strong financial planning and control are essential to ensuring that our projects have the right financial foundation and that resources are used effectively.
We are now looking for a Finance Controller to join our Finance team in Germany. In this role, you will work closely with our automotive R&D organization, supporting projects with financial planning, forecasting, analysis and decision support.
You will be the main financial partner for R&D stakeholders, including engineers, project managers and department heads. Combining financial expertise with a good understanding of the business, you will help create transparency around project performance, identify financial risks and deviations, and support informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle
What You'll Do:
Lead annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecasting for R&D projects in close collaboration with project managers and department heads.
Monitor project spending and resource allocation and provide clear financial insights to project stakeholders.
Perform budget versus actual analysis, identify deviations and support project owners in maintaining effective cost control.
Act as the primary financial partner for R&D stakeholders, translating financial data into clear business implications and recommendations.
Support financial decision-making, risk assessment and resource optimization across projects.
Work closely with Accounting, Procurement and other functions to ensure accurate project cost allocation and capitalization where applicable.
Continuously improve financial planning, forecasting and project tracking processes.
Ensure financial activities follow relevant internal controls and group policies.
Collaborate across our organization, with occasional travel expected approximately 3–6 times per year.
Who You Are:
We believe you are an experienced Finance Controller who combines strong analytical capabilities with a hands-on and collaborative approach. You are comfortable working close to technical stakeholders and can turn financial information into relevant insights for people who may not have a finance background.
You enjoy working in a project-driven environment where priorities can evolve, and you have the confidence to question assumptions, highlight financial risks and support stakeholders in making sound decisions.
To succeed in this role, you bring:
A bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience within Controlling, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering.
Experience from a multinational organization.
Experience working in an R&D, manufacturing or project-driven environment is highly relevant for the role.
Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cost control.
The ability to analyze financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for the business.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders at different levels.
A proactive and solution-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial and ERP systems.
Experience with SAP and/or Power BI is considered an advantage.
Professional fluency in both German and English, written and spoken
