AI Engineer
We are Geely Technology Europe. A unified European R&D centre within Geely Auto Group, where world-class engineers, developers and innovators push the boundaries of intelligent mobility. Our mission is to shape the next generation of vehicle architectures, digital technologies and intelligent systems for global markets. We integrate European customer and regulatory requirements early in the development process and support multiple brands within the Geely portfolio, including Zeekr, Lynk & Co and Geely. With nearly two decades of engineering experience in Europe, we continue to build smart, sustainable and user‑centric mobility solutions.
We are shaping the future of mobility through innovation, data and technology. We are now looking for an AI Engineer who wants to develop advanced AI and data solutions that influence how future vehicles are defined, developed and brought to market.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems through data, machine learning and generative AI. You will work closely with Product Planning, Customer Research, Market Intelligence and R&D, transforming large amounts of market, customer and engineering data into actionable insights that support product and portfolio decisions across multiple automotive brands.
Unlike many AI roles focused on standalone applications, you will work in a highly complex product environment where AI solutions continuously evolve through customer feedback, product learnings and real-world business needs. Your work will directly contribute to the development of future vehicles and customer experiences. This role is based in Frankfurt, Germany, with employment under LTIC (Lotus Tech Innovation Centre).
What You'll Do
Design scalable data architectures, data models and pipelines that integrate information from internal and external sources.
Develop machine learning and AI solutions that support market analysis, competitive benchmarking, trend identification and product evaluation.
Build and maintain relational and vector databases to support analytics and AI applications.
Develop solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic search technologies.
Transform business and product questions into data-driven solutions, prototypes and production-ready applications.
Create dashboards, reporting solutions and visualizations that help stakeholders make informed decisions.
Work closely with Product Planning, Customer Research, Market Intelligence and R&D teams to identify opportunities where AI can create business value.
Ensure data quality, traceability, security and responsible use of AI throughout the development lifecycle.
Evaluate and continuously improve the performance, accuracy and reliability of AI solutions.
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience developing data analytics, machine learning or generative AI solutions in a professional environment.
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with familiarity with other languages (e.g., Java, TypeScript) and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Experience working with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs and relational databases.
Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering and RAG architectures.
Knowledge of statistics, forecasting, model validation and software engineering best practices.
Ability to translate business challenges into practical AI solutions and actionable recommendations.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with vector databases and semantic search solutions.
Experience from product development, product planning, market intelligence or customer research environments is considered meritorious as well as experience deploying and maintaining AI solutions in production environments.
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field is beneficial.
What We Offer
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, customer insights and vehicle development. You will contribute to solutions that help shape future products across several global automotive brands and tackle challenges that combine advanced technology, large data sets and real-world product decisions.
You'll join a collaborative and highly skilled environment where experimentation, learning and innovation are encouraged, and where your work will have visible impact on future mobility experiences.
This position is based on-site in Frankfurt, Germany. We value close collaboration and in-person teamwork, with remote work typically limited to one day per week.
